Inspiration can come from anywhere: a beautiful photo, old china, fabulous fabric, artwork...I could go on and on. After living in our "new home" for over a year, it is finally time to touch the children's bathroom. I have scoured images of bathroom do's and don'ts for just the right look that would set my heart on fire and force me to complete this bathroom. To no avail. I finally realized I had been pinning a particular color scheme for weeks...just waiting for the right room. Why not use it in the kiddo's bathroom? It's bright, cheery and can look youthful without being too childish. This room is still a work in progress, but the painting is complete and I'm now down to finalizing the accessories.

The St. Regis Bora Bora resort has a gorgeous color palette! The various shades of blue and green just jump off the page. Maybe one day I'll have the pleasure of visiting this island resort. Maybe...
Miles Redd used a similar color scheme in this child's bedroom shown in the ever fabulous Architectural Digest. I love the combination of patterns that float around this room.

This lovely living room also uses the same scheme in a softer way. The white walls and neutral flooring allow the upholstery to make a statement.

I found this fun fabric at my nearby Calico Corners and the pagoda inspired me to paint artwork for the bathroom. I wish there was a window in said bathroom for me to dress with this lovely pattern. Once I frame the paintings and accessorize the bathroom completely, I will post more photos. But, for now, the walls are painted and mirror framed.

Bathroom, to be continued....
