Walnut stools...not just any walnut stools. These are the Ray Eames walnut stools. The famous mid-century modern furniture designer (among other talents) created these iconic stools for the Time-Life Building in New York City. Herman Miller continues to reproduce these stools for all to enjoy today. Well, maybe not all of us...they come at a hefty price tag!

My first encounter with these stools was in a Herman Miller catalogue in design school. It was love at first sight! I will probably never have a set to call my own, but I do hope to own a set of miniatures one day.

Above are the real stools...below is a miniature that you can used as an accessory piece.

And yes, it is a true scale model of the original.

These stool are typically seen in modern interiors, but they can easily transition into other styles.

The photographer, William Wegman, did an entire series with mid-century pieces...

including an Eames stool!

These timeless furniture pieces are really sculptural art and will continue to be cherished by the design world for centuries to come.
